Pickett Mountain Pond sits at the headwaters of the West Mattawamkeag River in the Maine Highlands. It is part of a chain of lakes including Mud Pond, Pleasant Lake, Grass Lake, and Rockabema Lake. This area is designated Critical Habitat for the endangered Atlantic Salmon, and includes some of the best Squaretail fishing in the Northeastern United States. It also hosts abundant high-quality waterfowl and wading bird habitat and thousands of acres of forest supporting deer, moose, bear, bobcat, lynx, fox, and turkey.
Pickett Mountain Rod and Gun Club is an all volunteer-run, membership-based club promoting hunting, fishing, foraging, and sport shooting. We encourage conservation and wildlife preservation to ensure the continued availability of the pristine waters and managed forests that support our traditional recreational activities and livelihoods.
